Rodgers, Ohio Soccer To Hold Summer Camps
< < Back to rodgers-ohio-soccer-hold-summer-campsWith a new head coach at the helm, the Ohio soccer program will continue to hold their annual summer camps, allowing the community to broaden their knowledge and skills on the soccer field.
Coach Aaron Rodgers will join his new Ohio team in welcoming young Bobcat fans to the 12th season of the Ohio University Summer Day Camp. The camp has been known for promoting a learning environment through a fun, challenging curriculum.
The event will be held June 10-13 with two different sessions offered. Children aged 6-14 can choose the half day option from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. for the cost of $125, or children who are 10-14 can go a full day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for $225.
The soccer clinics will allow Ohio fans to play on the same fields the collegiate athletes use, Pruitt Field Turf and Chessa Soccer Field.
The Bobcats will hold two more camps in July, both welcoming the future of college soccer to Ohio University.
Ohio’s first camp comes July 19-21. The Ohio Elite Residential Camp welcomes rising eighth graders to rising college freshmen to the University, where they have the option of staying on campus or commuting to the camp.
The costs of attending the camps are $415 for campers staying on campus and $345 for those commuting. The goals of the camp include developing “technical and tactical abilities as an individual as well as within team settings.” The coaching staff will also give each player their own evaluations and feedback throughout the week.
Immediately following the Ohio Elite Residential Camp, the Bobcats will host the High School Pre-Season Team Camp from July 22-25. This camp is strictly for eight graders and high school seniors, while the Elite Camp allows college freshmen to participate.
This three day event is only held 5-7:30 p.m. each day, and the cost is $90 per player.
With Rodgers starting his first season at Ohio, the three camps offer a great opportunity for the third head coach in Ohio soccer history to connect with the Bobcat community.
