Logan Man Wanted By Police
< < Back to logan-man-wanted-policeMichael R. Herrold, the 32-year-old Logan man who suffered a gunshot wound to the leg in January, is wanted by the Logan Police Department.
“We need to bring this guy in,” stated Logan Police Chief Aaron Miller. “We need help from the community so if anyone knows of his whereabouts, they should contact the police department immediately.”
Herrold is known to travel through Hocking, Vinton and Jackson counties. He has two warrants from LPD — one for a probation violation on an assault charge and the second for failure to appear for a review hearing.
His last known address was 1001 Mugla Road, Wellston.
According to the incident report from LPD in January, the shooting occurred in the area of Weis Street. At the time of the incident, Herrold provided a description of the alleged shooter as well as the vehicle. The suspect was later identified as Warren Love, of Columbus.
Herrold told officers there were three suspects involved. He said that a vehicle had stopped at the apartment where he was staying and a verbal argument ensued.
Love exited the back seat of the vehicle and allegedly brandished a handgun and allegedly ordered both Herrold and a man standing nearby to the ground. Love allegedly searched the pockets of the other man and took his possessions.
Love then allegedly ran toward the vehicle with Herrold and the other man in pursuit. Love turned and discharged his handgun, shooting Herrold in the leg.
The other two suspects were identified as Amanda Thompson, 25, of Columbus, and Sharvonne Scott, 22, of Columbus.
Love was charged with aggravated robbery with a firearm specification, a first-degree felony, and pleaded not guilty to the charge on Feb. 27 in Hocking County Common Pleas Court.
A jury trial has been scheduled for 9 a.m. June 11 for Love. However, the Hocking County Prosecutor’s Office and LPD need Herrold to come out of hiding and appear in court in time for the trial.
Herrold has been running from law enforcement since the incident occurred in January.
Anyone with information of Herrold’s whereabouts should contact LPD immediately at 740-385-6866.
“It’s imperative we catch him,” Miller added. “We need to get him off the streets.”
