OU President McDavis Talks About Future Of The University
< < Back to ou-president-mcdavis-talks-about-future-universityOhio University President Roderick McDavis says the university is looking at ways to strategically invest to generate more revenue.
McDavis says there are three specific ways the university will make smart investments for the future.
McDavis says Executive Vice President and Provost Pam Benoit is working with college deans to invest in academic programs that keep the university competitive.
He says Vice President of Student Affairs Kent Smith is looking to expand student services and programs that would make O.U. what President McDavis calls the best student-centered learning experience in America.
McDavis says the university is moving forward with a plan to hire new group one faculty to replace many tenure-track professors who retired by taking the university buyout.
"They'll be new people, but by the same token we want to rehire a lot of the high-quality people that left us over this past year," says McDavis.
McDavis appeared last night on WOUB Television's Newswatch program.
