Ndour and Willis Named to All-MAC Teams

Despite finishing 5-13 in MAC play, the conference is showing some love to two Ohio seniors. Forward Maurice Ndour was named to the All-MAC Second Team, while guard Javarez “Bean” Willis was named an All-MAC Honorable Mention on Monday.
Ndour and Willis were leaders for the Bobcats all season long.
Ndour’s combination of scoring, rebounding and shot blocking ability helped him control the paint. He led the Bobcats with averages of nearly 16 points, eight rebounds and two blocks per game. He also shot 47 percent from the field and 79 percent from the free throw line while swiping away a steal a game.
While Ndour was maintaining the lane and mid-range area, Willis was taking care of business on the outside. Willis knocked down 40 percent of his attempts from deep and led the team in assists at three per game. He wasn’t too far behind Ndour in scoring either, netting an average of 15 points a game while knocking down 86 percent of his free throw attempts.
The Bobcats relied on both seniors to take over the bulk of the scoring, and they usually came through. There was never a doubt who the leaders were, and they used their experience to help some of the younger players on the team. Without Ndour and Willis, the Green and White would have had a lot tougher time putting the ball in the basket over the course of the season.
Ohio will need both players to have big games Monday night when they travel to Kalamazoo, Mich., to take on Western Michigan in the first round of MAC Tournament play.
