< < Back to deputy-resigns-after-using-taser-church-campA Putnam County sheriff's deputy has resigned following an incident involving a Taser at a church camp.
Sheriff Steve Deweese tells media outlets that the deputy used the device on several teenagers at the camp. The deputy was off duty and was serving as a camp counselor and pastor.
The incident occurred in July at the camp held in Red House.
Deweese says the deputy used a personal Taser.
The sheriff says the deputy's name won't be released until the county prosecutor decides whether any charges will be filed.
