Middleport Man Accused Of Raping Teenager

A Middleport man being held in the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail under a $50,000 bond has been indicted on a charge of rape for allegedly having sexual contact with a 13-year-old girl.
Harley E. Wilson, 35, of 651 Beech St., is charged with engaging in sexual conduct with the girl against her will after allegedly admitting to the crime, court documents from Athens County Municipal Court state.
The complaint and warrantless arrest statement, both filed Monday, stated that Wilson allegedly confessed to having sexual conduct with the girl “two to three times” in a barn on Vanderhoof Road in Coolville.
The same day the documents were filed in municipal court, an indictment was filed in Athens County Common Pleas Court on the charge of felony rape.
An arraignment is scheduled for Aug. 21.
At an initial appearance in municipal court, Wilson’s bond was set at $50,000.
