Man Arrested on Rape Charges

A Washington County man is facing two first degree felony rape charges stemming from sexual acts involving a nine-year-old child.
Washington County Sheriff, Larry Mincks says 29-year-old Daniel Pottmeyer of Lowell is accused of performing two types of sexual acts on the child between five and seven times.
In a statement released today, Micks says that detectives were able to definitively link Pottmeyer and the sex acts involving the child, but would not comment any further on the case.
Pottmeyer was arrested today while at work in Wood County, West Virginia and is awaiting extradition to Ohio.
The Wood County Sheriff's office reports that Pottmeyer is currently chrages with being a fugitive from justice.
