Late Goal Lifts Rio Over Bryan College 3-2

In a back-and-forth match, Rio struck first with a de Melo goal in the fourth minute. Freshman Callum Cobb provided the assist.
The Lions put in an equalizer on a Zach McCown 30th-minute goal.
The RedStorm fought right back in the 51st minute with a Pau Rodriguez shot bouncing off the keeper Josh Oldroyd and into the net for a 2-1 Rio lead.
However, the Lions stormed back as Khankhalifa Kanne knotted things up at two in the 81st minute.
It was the Brazilian freshman, de Melo, who scored twice bring the game home for head coach Scott Morrissey’s squad to move it to 4-1. Rio was ranked No. 8 in the latest NAIA poll, with its only loss coming at the hands of then No. 1 Belhaven University.
