The money from the White House’s Office of National Drug Control Policy will help counties designated as Ohio High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas. They are: Adams, Cuyahoga, Fairfield, Franklin, Greene, Hamilton, Lucas, Mahoning, Montgomery, Scioto, Stark, Summit and Warren counties.
U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown says the grants announced Tuesday will help with efforts including drug abuse prevention initiatives such as Operation Street Smart.
That national program was awarded $70,000 of the grant money. Operation Street Smart was designed to provide drug prevention education to community groups focused on the health and safety of youths and young adults.
