Ohio Baseball Holds Intrasquad Scrimmage
< < Back to ohio-baseball-holds-intrasquad-scrimmageThis past weekend the Ohio Bobcats baseball team had an intrasquad scrimmage at Bob Wren Stadium that pitted Team Ohio against Team Bobcats. After losing the first game of the series, Team Ohio bounced back in the last two games and won the series 2-1. In first game of the series, Team Bobcats defeated Team Ohio 4-3. However, Team Ohio went on to win the last two games of the series by narrowly winning game two 3-2 and overpowered Team Bobcats in game three by a score of 11-3.
Freshman pitcher Jake Roehn picked up the win for Team Bobcats in game one making it his second victory of the fall ball season. After a two-run home run by junior Jake Madsen in the first inning, Team Ohio only scored one more run, losing 3-2.
For Team Bobcats, senior Taylor Emody went 2-for-3 with a double and junior Tyler Wells also went 2-for-3 with a home run helping them capture the game one victory.
Team Ohio stormed back in game two as outfielder John Adryan went 1-for-2 with a double and freshman Anthony Winters made the most of his one at-bat with an RBI and a run scored. Jake Rudnicki got the win after pitching six innings and junior Logan Cozart picked up the save in the seventh inning.
Team Ohio dominated Team Bobcats in the series finale on Sunday scoring six runs in the sixth inning. They were led once again by Madsen who hit his second home run of the series as well as junior Brice Nikisther who blasted a home run of his own.
The Bobcats will begin their third and final three-game intrasquad series at Bob Wren Stadium and the first pitch is slated for Friday at 5:30 p.m.
