Waterford to Lean on Quarterback Huffman
< < Back to waterford-to-lean-on-quarterback-huffmanAfter finishing just 7th in the TVC-Hocking last season, the Waterford Wildcats are looking for a bounce-back season.
This year’s edition of the Wildcats will once again be led by junior quarterback Isaac Huffman, marking his third year as the starter under center. In 2014, he led the Wildcats in both passing and rushing with over 700 yards through the air and over 600 yards on the ground.
Wildcats Head Coach Tom Tucker said although Huffman is just entering his junior season, his teammates look to him as a leader.
“He’s taken every snap for us since he was a freshman, and I think the guys really look to him and rally around him,” Tucker said.
Waterford will begin its 2015 campaign on Aug. 28 at home against the Miller Falcons. The Wildcats should be favored in their season opener and a win to start off the year could help them gain momentum out of the gates.
Key games on the Wildcats’ schedule include their home matchup against Wahama on Sept. 4, another home game against defending the TVC-Hocking Champion Trimble on Sept. 18, and the season finale at Belpre on Oct. 30.
