Ohio Soccer Drops Fourth Straight

The Bobcats came into Friday night’s game desperately needing a win after starting the season at 0-3 and sought to find it against the Thundering Herd. However, the Cats fell just short after a furious second half rally, 3-2.
The Thundering Herd came out hard and fast to start the game continually pushing on the attack and getting off 7 shots before scoring their first goal at the 29:35 marker.
The Bobcats brought some offensive pressure of their own though, getting off five shots in the first 30 minutes. The team has struggled to put shots on goal all season, getting just one shot on target in the first half.
Down 1-0 at halftime, the Bobcats appeared within striking distance until Marshall scored early on, stretching their lead to 2-0 after goal by Erin Simmons at 47:16. The goal came just before a lightning delay that continued to put the game on hold for over an hour.
The Thundering Herd quickly continued their dominance after the restart, scoring in the 49th minute to give Marshall the 3-0 lead. From there, it was almost all Bobcats, as they managed to put up nine shots after the 50th minute and scored twice during that stretch.
Alexis Milesky’s goal in the 60th minute marked the first goal of the season and gave them an opportunity to get back into the game. However, it was Stephanie Rowlands’ goal early in the 87th minute that really put Ohio back into the game.
In the end, it was the Thundering Herd who came away with the victory after saving an Ohio shot late in the 89th minute.
The loss dropped the Bobcats to 0-4-0 on the season but after scoring their first two goals all year they should have some momentum to carry into Sunday’s game that is at Kentucky.
