1.) River Valley Raiders 4-0 (1-0) | Last rank: 1 | Next opponent: Vs. Meigs
After a convincing 23-12 win against a solid Nelsonville-York team, River Valley has continued to display why it remains the team to beat in the conference. A fifth win for the Vikings and they would tie their total win total from last year.
2.) Meigs Marauders 3-1 (1-0) | Last rank: 2 | Next opponent: @ River Valley
Meigs responded well to its 27-22 loss to Logan in week three, pitching a 30-0 shutout over Vinton County. Friday’s match-up against River Valley will tell a lot about the Marauders’ true potential.
3.) Alexander Spartans 3-1 (1-0) | Last rank: 3 | Next opponent: Vs. Wellston
Alexander’s 31-14 win over Athens made a big statement. The Spartans pride themselves on the defensive side of the ball, allowing only 14.75 points per game and containing an explosive Athens offense.
4.) Athens Bulldogs 1-3 (0-1) | Last rank: 4 | Next opponent: @ Vinton County
Inconsistent play has plagued Athens. The Bulldogs committed a whopping seven turnovers against Alexander, halting any offensive momentum.
T-5) Nelsonville-York Buckeyes 1-3 (0-1) | Last rank: 5 | Next opponent: Vs. Logan
The Buckeyes have dropped three in a row since their impressive win in Trimble. Producing offense continues to be an issue, having scored only 24 points during their past two games. With Logan and Meigs upcoming, Nelsonville-York’s offense needs a quick turn-around.
T-5) Wellston Rockets 3-1 (0-0) | Last rank: 6 | Next opponent: @ Alexander
The Rockets have yet to score under 30 points yet this season. However, their three wins came against teams with a combined 3-7 record, so it’s difficult to gauge Wellston’s quality.
7) Vinton County Vikings 0-4 (0-1) | Last rank: 7 | Next opponent: Vs. Athens
Vinton County’s continues to search for its first double-digit point total, offensively.
