Trimble Runs Through Previously Undefeated Miller

The Trimble Tomcats made a statement on Friday night: the road to the TVC-Hocking title still goes through Glouster. Trimble ran through the previously undefeated Miller Falcons 56-14, extending its in-conference win streak to 27 in homecoming fashion.
Justice Jenkins was a one-man wrecking crew against the Falcons, finishing with 232 yards on 22 carries and four touchdowns, but the senior running back had a scary moment in the first quarter.
When blocking for another Tomcat, Jenkins rolled his right ankle and had to be helped off the field. Trimble didn’t seem phased. On the very next play, Andrew Losey found Jacob Hardy for a 19-yard score. That play was the only one Jenkins missed all night.
After a slow start, action picked up late in the second quarter. Kamron Curry supplied the highlight of the night with a 60-yard punt return to the house. Hardy intercepted a Miller pass on the first snap of the drive. Following a Jenkins touchdown, the Falcons traveled the length of the field in 20 seconds and Carson Starlin reeled in a fade route as time expired to put Miller on the board.
Curry also found the end zone on the ground and compiled 66 rushing yards on 10 carries. Trimble quarterback Andrew Losey found his target on 5 of his 14 attempts for 59 yards and a score.
Trimble outgained Miller 400-198. Falcons running back Kody McKinniss recorded 126 yards on 14 carries and a touchdown in the loss. Cole Giel completed eight of his 19 passes for 95 yards, a touchdown and three interceptions.
The loss knocks the Falcons from the top spot in the TVC-Hocking and they’ll host non-conference opponent Hannan next week.
After dropping their season debut, the Tomcats have won four straight and hope to make that five next week when they take on Wahama at home.
