Arrest Made In Chillicothe Death

Update 4:20 p.m. – The woman found dead yesterday in Chillicothe has been identified as Rebecca Cade, 31, of Chillicothe. Police announced this at a press conference held at 4 p.m.
Update 2 p.m – Donnie Cochenour Jr. appeared in Chillicothe Municipal Court Wednesday morning, where his bond was set at $2 million.
CHILLICOTHE, Ohio (AP) – Police in a southern Ohio city say they’ve made an arrest in connection with the death of a woman who was found dangling from a chain-link fence.
Donnie Cochenour Jr. has been charged with murder in the death of the woman whose body was found Tuesday morning in Chillicothe. Police have not released the name of the woman or how she was killed.
Her body was found in the same city where police have been investigating a string of suspicious deaths and disappearances of local women.
The female’s name was not released because positive identification had not been made, police said during a press conference Tuesday. The woman was found at about 8:30 a.m. near a fence line at the dead end of North Brownell Street, according to a press release by the Chillicothe Police Department.
“There were obvious injuries to the body and the case is under investigation by Chillicothe Police Detectives, Ross County Coroner’s Office, Ross County Prosecuting Attorney and crime scene units from Ohio BCI&I,” the release stated.
Police also said the case “does not appear to be linked to any other current investigation being conducted locally.”
