< < Back to rio-demolishes-cumberland-6-0-remains-undefeated-mscOnce again, the Rio Grande RedStorm scored six goals in a victory, a number of which they seem to be quite fond as they have won four different matches by a score of 6-0.
This time it came in a thrashing of the Cumberland (Tenn.) University Bulldogs.
Rio outshot the Bulldogs 28-7 and received goals from Pau Rodriguez (2), Patricio Arce, Romain Terzain, Ryota Tonegawa and William Paulino.
Of note: The NAIA’s leading goal-scorer Luiz Filho did not score a goal for the RedStorm.
Keeper Jon Dodson saved three shots while helping record the eighth shutout of the season for Rio, as Ludovic Delapeyre lent a helping hand in the net for the final 14 minutes. Six of the last seven matches, all of which have been in Mid-South Conference play, the RedStorm have produced clean sheets.
Rio has only allowed two goals in conference play through a total of nine games.
The RedStorm have conference games remaining at Cumberlands (Ky.) University and home against the University of Northwestern Ohio, as they look to finish an undefeated conference schedule.
Rio Grande is now 11-1-2 (6-0-2) and does not play again until that Saturday matchup at Cumberlands at 3:30 p.m.
