The ADA25 Celebration Series Conclusion

Tuesday, October 27 will begin the Americans with Disabilities Celebration Series final week, with a Keynote from L. Scott Lissner, a job search presentation, and a literature review discussion.
On Tuesday, ADA Coordinator and 504 Compliance Officer for Ohio State University L. Scott Lissner will speech as keynote on the topic “From Exclusion to Universal Design: The ADA’s Past, Present and Future.” This keynote will be a historical overview of disability rights. Later Tuesday evening, a job search and interviewing interactive workshop will be held in the Amanda J. Cunningham Leadership Center, 366 Baker University Center. Presented by Career and Leadership Development Center Associate Director Lindsey Ward, the workshop will help prepare before, during, and after an interview. This event will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Thursday, October 29 is ADA25’s final day. In the Women’s Center, 403 Baker University Center, a brown bag discussion will offer a brief literature review of research done on issues for women who have disabilities, including topics on employment, sexual abuse and assault, and health. This discussion will be from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
Also from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., Nicholas Wortman and Kerri Griffin, of Ohio University Human Resources and the Office of Equal Opportunity and Accessibility, respectively, will present on “Recruitment Strategies for a Diverse Workforce.” This discussion will assess current recruitment efforts by search committee members, and looks to ways in which those efforts can reach more diverse applicants.
