Voter Registration Ends Tonight
< < Back to voter-registration-ends-tonightIt's deadline time for Ohioans who need to register to vote in the November election.
Forms may be downloaded from the Ohio Secretary of State's website and must be postmarked today, if being turned in by mail. The forms may also be submitted in person at a variety of sites, including the Ohio Secretary of State's office, local elections boards, public high schools or public libraries.
A number of Board of Elections offices in the region will be open later than usual for voter registration. The offices in Athens County, Washington County and Muskingum County all report keeping hours until 9 p.m. An employee at the Fairfield County Board of Elections office says they will close for an hour between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m., but will then remain open until 9 p.m.
Early voting began last week for the Nov. 8 election. It will decide races for mayor and other local officials, as well as a few state ballot issues including whether to keep the new Ohio law that limits the collective bargaining rights of public employee unions.
