Steinhoff and Towarnicky talk about their experiences with the Women's movement and the various kinds of activism that was on college campuses during such a tumultuous time.
Ken Steinhoff has had 49 years experience as a photojournalist. Steinhoff has been working in some form of the newspaper industry since the age of 12; from Florida to Missouri; The Post to The Athens Messenger (minus one summer at 16 when he worked construction).
It’s Towarnicky’s first time back to Athens in about 30 years. Recently retired from the Philadelphia Daily News, Towarnicky has spent the last 29 years working for the Philadelphia Daily News, the last 11 as its chief editorial writer. She has a bachelor of arts degree in English from Ohio University in Athens.
Towarnicky was a co-finalist for the 2001 Pulitzer Prize in Editorial Writing and won the 1993 Eugene C. Pulliam Fellowship for Editorial Writers as well as several national and local journalism awards.
