Accurso Becomes Three-Time All-American
< < Back to accurso-becomes-three-time-all-americanSenior Juli Accurso finished 19th overall out of 254 runners in the NCAA Division I Cross-Country Championships held in Terre Haute, Ind. on Nov. 23 to become a three-time All-American.
Accurso crossed the line with a time of 20:31.5 in the 6-kilometer event. She qualified for the national event with a win at the Great Lakes Regional Meet with a time of 20:00.
In 2011 and 2012, Accurso also competed in the National Championships and in 2011 she finished with a time of 20:26.3 to finish 36th overall. As a junior in 2012, Accurso finished 38th overall with a time of 20:14.4. In each of these contests she was also named an All-American.
Accurso has now added to her accolade list as she is also a two-time Great Lakes Regional Runner of the Year. Also earlier in the year, Accurso defended her MAC individual title for the third straight year with a time of 20:37.26.
The cross-country season ended with the national meet but Accurso plans to compete for the Bobcats on their track and field team.
