Ohio Softball Picked as MAC Regular Season Champs in Preseason Poll

For the second year in a row, the Ohio University softball team is selected to win the MAC regular season. The Bobcats went 15-32 overall and 7-11 in conference. Even after this lackluster 2015 campaign, they still received four votes from the coaches’ preseason poll to reign as the MAC regular season champions.
Both Central Michigan and Kent State tied as winners of the MAC Tournament Title, receiving three votes; Ohio secured two votes. The Bobcats were also picked to finish second in the MAC East, one spot behind rival Miami who only received three votes. Central Michigan ran the table in the West, collecting seven votes, being the undisputed favorite in the West division.
The Ohio softball season is slated to start on Feb. 19 in Columbia, South Carolina when they take on Longwood at 12pm.
