Millfield Man Heads to Prison for Theft Related Matters

James R. McDaniel III, of Millfield, was sentenced Wednesday to spend four years and 11 months in prison for a series of theft related matters across Athens County in 2012 and 2013.
Athens County Common Pleas Judge L. Alan Goldsberry also mandated that McDaniel successfully complete a drug and alcohol treatment program upon his release from prison.
Earlier McDaniel had pleaded guilty to two counts of Receiving Stolen Property and two counts of Breaking and Entering.
On Sept. 25, 2012, McDaniel was found in possession of two stolen firearms and on March 7, 2013, McDaniel entered three residences on Peach Ridge Road in Athens Township and removed items from two of them. On April 14, 2013, he and another person entered a property without permission in Trimble and removed keys to an ATV, according to Athens County Prosecutor Keller Blackburn.
The cases were investigated by the Athens County Sheriff’s Office.
