Today the Mid-American Conference announced its players of the week for women’s golf. Four players earned the title this week; among them was standout Ohio golfer Hailey Hrynewich. She was joined by Ball State’s Syndey Anderson and Kelly Anderson, along with Northern Illinois Brielle Ward.

Hrynewich, a senior this year, opened her season at the 2016 Redbird Invitational, hosted by Illinois State at the Weibring golf course. She finished fourth in her first tournament of the year after an impressive showing. She opened the tournament by shooting one over par 73 in the first round. Later that afternoon she shot a six over par 79 in her second round. Through two rounds of the tournament she sat in 21st place.

In the final day of the tournament she shot a new career low, firing an impressive six under 66. That round put her two day total at a two over 218 and vaulted seventeen spots up the leaderboard to fourth.

As a team the Lady ‘Cats shot a 925 and finished in eighth place. Hrynewich and the team will return to action September 19-20 when they compete at the Cardinal Classic in Yorktown Indiana.
