Former Bobcat Mitchell Signs With Steelers

Former Ohio Bobcat Mike Mitchell signed a new deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Tuesday according to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the deal is for five years and $25 million. Mitchell will join Steeler star Troy Polamalu and Hall of Fame defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau in Pittsburgh.
After being drafted by the Oakland Raiders in 2009, Mitchell was considered to be a bust, tallying just two interceptions in four years.
Mitchell was granted a second chance with the Carolina Panthers last season and made the most of it by recording four interceptions and helping lead a Carolina secondary that ranked sixth in the NFL in opposing passing yards.
