Five Pioneers Receive All-OAC Honors

Three members of the Marietta College men’s basketball team and two members of the women’s basketball team received All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors on Wednesday.
Andy Dollman, RaNeal Ewing and Garrett Stevenson were each voted onto the All-OAC team by conference coaches. Dollman received First Team honors, Ewing was named to the Second Team, and Stevenson received Honorable Mention.
After taking over for starting point guard Tyler Hammond when his season was ended by an OVI arrest, Dollman led the team in scoring by averaging 13.1 points per game despite missing several of the Pioneers’ games with what was supposed to be a season-ending elbow injury.
Dollman also led the team in long-range shooting, making 49.1 percent of his 3-point field goals and ranked second in total field goal percentage with 54.7 percent of his shots hitting the target.
Ewing finished second in scoring for Marietta with 12.1 points per game and scored the most total points, racking up 290 points for the Pioneers this season. He also led the team in steals (25) and was one of the team leaders in free-throw percentage, sinking 82 percent of his attempts from the charity stripe.
Stephenson proved multi-faceted for Marietta, with an imposing presence in the post while also being able to regularly convert 3-pointers. The post player ranked in the top five of the OAC in field goal percentage converting 55.7 percent of his overall shots while averaging 9.4 points per game and also ranked second on the team with 4.5 rebounds per game.
Lady Pioneers Tori Dixon and Candice Alexander received honorable mention for the second straight season.
Dixon left her mark on the Pioneers; program this season by becoming Marietta’s all-time leading 3-point shooter this season and led the OAC with 2.5 triples per game. The Londonderry, Ohio native also finished second in scoring on the team with 12.5 points per game and became the ninth player in Pioneers history to transcend 1,000 career points.
Alexander ranked within the top ten in the OAC in multiple categories including points and rebounds per game and field goal percentage. The junior forward led Marietta in scoring with 13 points per game and grabbed a team-high 6.4 rebounds per outing. She also posted a 51.8 field goal percentage and led the team in steals (27) and smacked away 23 shots to become team leader in both those categories as well.
The Lady Pioneers finished 10-15 overall, 4-14 in the league and return all but two players, one of which is Dixon.
