Teenager Is Charged With Father’s Murder

A 14-year-old Scioto County boy is charged with murder of his father.
According to Scioto County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to a home in the 600 block of Disterdick Road in Franklin Furnace Sunday afternoon.
The sheriff reported that a 911 call was received from a residence on Junior Road from someone who said a juvenile showed up at the house, saying that he had shot his father.
Deputies responded to the Disterdick home and found 48-year-old Michael Riley dead from an apparent gunshot wound.
The teen is charged with one count of murder and is being held in the juvenile detention center located in Ross County.
Scioto County Sheriff Marty Donini said that more charges could be presented at a later time.
Authorities have not released the motive of the shooting.
