Eastern Lady Eagles Soar Despite Injuries Against South Gallia Lady Rebels

However, starting with a short bench of only seven players the Lady Eagles were unfazed by the challenge. Every single player made their mark on the stat sheet in their 56- 30 win.
Becca Pullins and Allison Bailey led the way for the Eagles with 13 points each. Elizabeth Collins dominated both sides of the ball against South Gallia putting up 12 points, six rebounds, and five steals. Even though eastern put up their “best offensive outing of the season” according to Eastern Coach Jacob Parker, the defense still managed to steal the show. The Lady Eagles defense held South Gallia to only three shots in the first quarter and managing 30 total takeaways.
South Gallia Lady Rebels continued to struggle tonight as Eastern started off the game on a 12-0 run. Going into the second half, South Gallia found themselves down 26-8 and things did not get any better from there. Eastern started off the second half of the game on an 18-3 run. The Rebels offense managed a total of 30 turnovers and six points in the first half. South Gallia managed to pull off a 26 point second half in crushing defeat.
As Eastern improves to 11-1 on the season they turn their focus to Oak Hill on Saturday at home. The Eagles currently riding a four game winning streak look for redemption this year as they try to take the basketball giant.
South Gallia falls to 2-9 they look to bounce back and snap their four game losing streak against a River Valley team who has had some struggles of their own. The Lady Raiders season record stands at 2-11 with a hefty seven game losing streak behind them.
