Young players reaped the glory for Ohio on the list. Sophomore shortstop Amanda Dalton took home first team honors. Dalton, the slap-hitting, speedy leadoff hitter leads the team with a .344 average. Her .454 on base percentage is best among all Bobcats and she has swiped eleven bases in 2014.
Sophomore hurler Savannah Jo Dorsey received second team honors. Dorsey earned all-freshman team honors a year ago and has seen her numbers improve as she posted a 21-16 record with a 2.64 ERA before MAC tourney play. Dorsey tossed 23 complete games out of the 29 she has started and pitched in 221 1/3 innings in the regular season. Five of her games resulted in complete game shutouts, with the highlight of the season coming on February 16 against North Florida when she threw a no-hitter.
Third baseman Casie Hutchinson also secured a spot on the second team for her impressive batting prowess as a freshman. While at the hot corner, Hutchinson has made only seven errors for a .941 fielding percentage. Hutchinson finished the regular season with a .282 average with 44 hits, three home runs and 22 RBI’s. She did all this while in the three-hole in the lineup.
