Ohio Pushes Past Temple
< < Back to ohio-pushes-past-templeOhio University Bobcat's victory over the Temple University Owls puts OU football at number one in the MAC East Division.
The Bobcats beat the Owls 35-31, but it wasn’t easy.
“I thought it was a great football game to watch. Probably not so great to coach the way it went back and forth. I was glad that that type of game came about on national TV,” says Head Coach Frank Solich.
As the score tide tottered throughout game, the Bobcats used new strategies and different plays to overcome Temple’s defense.
Going into the game, Temple’s defense was second in the nation, only giving up 10 points per game.
“We knew they had a great defense coming in, and we had a great plan and executed [it] very well,” says Ohio University Quarterback Tyler Tettleton.
“He’s doing his thing out there, making plays with his feet and his arms,” says Ohio University Wide Receiver LaVon Brazill.
Tettleton finished 15-of-24 for 258 yards and threw three touchdown strikes.
“Tettleton is a double threat he can pass and he can run,” says Ohio University Running Back Donte Harden.
Bobcat players are excited to gain first place in the MAC but are already working toward their next game against Central Michigan.
According to Tettleton, the team has to take it one game at a time.
“We have a target on our back now, you know,” Tettleton says.
