Ohio Prepares for Important Weekend Against Bowling Green

Having lost seven of its last 10 games, Ohio (27-14, 8-7) is looking to get back on the winning side of the scoreboard as they take on Bowling Green (23-23, 9-6) at home this weekend.
The Bobcats are fourth in the MAC East division while Bowling Green is second. Ohio won’t only snap out of a two-game losing skid but be in striking position of the Mid-American Conference #1 seed Miami if they snag a series victory against the Falcons.
A lack of offense has been the green and white’s recent downfall. They’ve only scored eight runs in their past seven losses. Savannah Jo Dorsey and Danielle Stein are doing their part to keep Ohio in games. The duo needs help from its supporting cast.
The Bobcats not earning a single run despite Dorsey pitching a strong 11 innings, striking out 22 is a prime example of this problem.
Ohio has put up big numbers in games this season and are more than capable doing so again. Morgan Geno has the potential to hit a home run every time she walks onto the plate, and speedsters like Taylor Saxton and Deanna Cole almost always steal a base when they get on. The issue is they haven’t been snatching bases because they haven’t been getting on of late.
Bowling Green has found a path on the winning track.
BGSU has won back-to-back games, thanks to its sweep of Buffalo last weekend. Bowling Green isn’t putting up big numbers despite their recent victories. All of their wins were low scoring, one in which they only produced a single run.
If Ohio gets momentum going through getting bats popping early, Dorsey is more than capable of allowing her unit to top the Falcons.
The series starts with a doubleheader at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. today and concludes tomorrow at 10:00 a.m.
