Gladden House Sessions 2017: The Easy Leaves
< < Back to ?p=194477Originally from Sonoma, CA, the songwriting duo of Sage Fifield and Kevin Carduccil first started making music together in 2008, and are now based out of San Francisco, performing and recording as The Easy Leaves. The two have been steadily honing their solidly countrified brand of folk and bluegrass-tinged originals, and those efforts have yielded numerous releases, including this year’s EP The Wheels (Omega Records).
With well-received stints at Pickathon and Red Ants Pants Music Festival, The Easy Leaves have been making inroads with new fans recently. With Fifield on guitar and vocals, and Carducci on bass and vocals, the two were joined by friend and frequent collaborator Kyle O’Brien on fiddle at the Gladden House.
The Easy Leaves joined host Josh Antonuccio for a conversation about making their most recent release, The Wheels, which was recorded at Prairie Sun Recording Studio, north of San Francisco. The band delivered a high-energy set of originals during their time at the Gladden House, starting with two songs off of The Wheels: “Highwaymen” and “Eleven Hours.” They closed the set with the single “Too Much Gin,” a true story about life and loss in Fifield’s family.
