< < Back to small-fire-at-ruby-tuesdayAthens firefighters are investigating the cause of a small fire at the Ruby Tuesday restaurant.
According to Wanda Curtis, the restaurant’s assistant manager, the staff smelled smoke in the building around 8 p.m. Tuesday and immediately called 911. Curtis says there were about 30 guests in the restaurant at the time.
Athens Fire Chief Bob Rymer confirmed that there was a fire in the right column of the entryway of the building, which worked it’s way up to the roof. The cause of the fire remains undetermined. but Rymer said it is unlikely it was an electrical fire because there was no wiring inside the column.
