OU Student Charged With Rape
< < Back to ou-student-charged-with-rapeATHENS — An Ohio University student is charged with rape and abduction after holding a woman down in his car at the Athens parking garage.
Mohammed Al Mashrafi Nasser, 23, of Home Street, was taken into custody by Athens police officers on Wednesday evening.
Nasser had an initial appearance in Athens County Municipal Court on Thursday, where a $75,000 bond was set, with no 10 percent allowed. The request to not allow bond argued he had no local ties and “is likely to flee the area,” according to court documents.
It is alleged that Nasser was in the car with the victim where he allegedly “inserted his fingers into her vagina after being told no several times,” according to the criminal complaint.
“The (defendant) would not let the victim out of the vehicle and put his hand over the lock to not let her out,” the document stated.
Both the rape and the abduction charge are felonies.
A preliminary hearing in municipal court has been scheduled for Dec. 10.
