This is the first step in “Sherman’s March to 200,” a year-long celebration leading to the bicentennial of Lancaster, Ohio’s most famous resident, William Tecumseh Sherman. And everyone is invited to the party!

We’re serving light refreshments made by Ale House 1890 and birthday cake by The Confectionary, with a cash bar to quench your thirst. DJ David Craiglow will play a variety of music, including Civil War dance tunes. A trivia contest will run through the evening with prizes for correct answers. A Civil War costume contest will be held at 8 p.m. And Gen. Sherman himself will be there, as portrayed by historian Frank Bullock.

Advance tickets are $25 per person; $45 for two. Tickets at the door will be $30 per person.

The event is hosted by the Fairfield County Heritage Association, which owns and operates the Sherman House Museum and the Georgian Museum; champions preservation and revitalization; and provides educational programming.
