My name is Luke Boyd. I am an art grad student studying painting and drawing at Ohio University. I wanted to let you know about a show I have coming up on Friday, January 25th 7-9pm. The show includes several of my paintings from the last few months. The majority of the paintings depict cakes.

The show is titled Crumb Coat

Crumb Coat: The thin layer of frosting that traps stray cake crumbs and prevents them from popping up in your finished cake.

I am so excited to have my paintings on display at ArtsWest for the month of January.

These paintings are recalling, preserving and embellishing sweet memories. These desserts are representative of the events, people, and time for which they were created. They are nostalgic. I am remembering the recipes, processes, and people who I associate with each confection as I paint them from memory.
