Angela An to be Emcee for The Lighthouse 13^th Annual Style Show and Luncheon. 

Emmy Award-Winning journalist and Co-Anchor Angela An will be the 2019 Emcee for the 13^th Annual Lighthouse Domestic Violence Shelter Spring Luncheon and Style Show on Saturday, March 2 from 12-2 pm at the Lancaster Country Club. Tickets are on sale now!  The Lighthouse Shelter has been helping victims of domestic violence in this area for more than thirty-five years – providing a safe haven, assisting with filing protective orders, court advocates, and partnering with The Recovery Center to provide counseling.  On March 2, 2019, the Lighthouse Domestic Violence Shelter will host the 13^th Annual Spring Style Show and Luncheon.   The Lighthouse Board of Directors and staff invite the community to preview beautiful spring fashions from local fashion boutiques and to enjoy the lastest fashion looks and accessories from Christopher Banks, CJ Banks, Kohls, JCPenney, and other area dress shops.

“We have a few changes this year – by moving to Crossroads Event Center on Fair Avenue, we can have more people and no parking problems.  Our Style Show is a great opportunity to spend a fun Girls’ Day with family and friends,” says Sally Spangler, Lighthouse Board Vice-President and Style Show Organizer. “There will be basket raffles, the latest fashions, and a good time for all – and at the same time helping victims of domestic violence through your donation.”

The Style Show has many local sponsors and contributors to make the event a success.  Pamela Kaylor, Board President says, “The doors open at 11 a.m.  Most of the women who attend each year come early to participate in the basket raffles.  Each year we have beautiful, creative baskets to raffle – there is something for everyone.  We have so much community participation – our models may be someone you know.  And we are very pleased to have Angela An with us again this year.”

This will be the first Spring Style Show Fundraiser for new Executive Director Susan Nixon Stoughton.  This is a chance for the community to take a stand against family violence in our area, to support The Lighthouse, and to meet the director.

Founded in 1980, The Lighthouse is a private, non-profit health agency dedicated to promoting the existence of a safe and peaceful home and family life environment through quality services focused on the prevention, education and treatment of family violence.  The Lighthouse, Inc. is a United Way Agency and a contract agency of The Fairfield County ADAMHS Board, Office of Criminal Justice Services Family Prevention Grant, VOCA and SVAA funds. Last year, The Lighthouse was able to provide over 5,000 nights of emergency shelter and over 15,000 meals as well as providing other services to non-residents.

Tickets can be purchased by calling 740-215-5056 or emailing dawes@ohio.edu.  Tickets are $35 donation.  Raffle tickets are available for three prizes: a flat screen television, a $100 gift card tree, and a Fire Tablet.  Raffle tickets are $1 or 6/$5.  You do not have to be present to win.  All proceeds benefit The Lighthouse Domestic Violence Shelter.

About The Lighthouse:

The Lighthouse offers a safe, supportive environment for victims when they are involved in domestic violence situations. In addition to emergency shelter, The Lighthouse offers the following: 24 Hour Hotline Staff are on-site at all times. They are trained to assist victims and to answer questions. I 740-687-4423.  The Lighthouse offers group and individual counseling for adults. This service is available to anyone who has been victimized by domestic violence. Individual counseling is also available for children. We will assist victims of domestic violence with court proceedings. We can also help with referrals to affordable legal services. Case Management is available to assist clients with their basic needs. Speakers are also available to community groups.
