19th Big Bend Blues and Brews Bash July 26-27

The Big Bend Blues and Brews Bash will return for the 19th year to downtown Pomeroy’s riverside amphitheater Friday, July 26 through Saturday, July 27. This year’s acts include Albert Castiglia, Johnny Rawls, Scott Holt, Clarence Spady, Randy McAllister, Dave Keller, The Labra Brothers, Blitzkrieg, Brent Patterson & Saturday Night Showcase, Renee Stewart Band, Blue Z, and Connor Christian. Friday, July 26 will also feature a performance by Noah Wotherspoon at the Court Street Grill, and Saturday night will feature a performance by Jake Dunn & the Blackbirds at the Court Street Grill.
WOUB’s Emily Votaw spoke to Jackie Welker, the executive director of the festival, as well as the longtime owner of Pomeroy juke joint the Court Street Grill, about the festival, in the interview embedded above. They touch on the nature and growth of downtown Pomeroy, the history of the festival, and what Welker has in store for the festival’s 19th and 20th iterations.
