From Busking in NYC to Playing Festivals: Mike Wilbur of Moon Hooch

Moon Hooch is an inventive instrumental trio from Brooklyn, NY that has been making unique saxophone and percussion-heavy music for almost 10 years. The band will return to Nelson Ledges Quarry Park in Garrettsville, OH for the park’s annual Summerdance Festival Saturday, August 31 through Sunday, September 1, performing two sets over the course of the weekend.
WOUB spoke to one of the band’s two saxophonists, Mike Wilbur, about coming up as a trio busking in the hostile womb of the NYC Subway, the band’s latest single, and performing at Summerdance alongside their longtime friends, Lotus.
