One Person Injured After Falling from Electric Pole

One person was sent to the hospital after climbing and then falling from an electric pole at an off-campus party Friday night.
According to the Athens Police report, officers were dispatched to 19 B Palmer St. at 10 p.m. The man was transported by EMS in critical condition. His name has not been released and his current condition is unknown.
In a statement, Ohio University says the person injured is not a student at the school.
At least two videos capturing the incident circulated on social media. One of the videos shows a man climbing the pole and then a spark-like explosion as he reached the top of the pole. The man then appears to go limp and falls to the ground. A second spark-like explosion is seen as he is falling.
