Ohio Soccer: Strong second half can’t save Bobcats from slow start

The Bobcats (7-6-1) can’t seem to find a winning streak as they fall to Buffalo (6-6-1) on Sunday afternoon during their annual breast cancer awareness game.
After a wire to wire tie against fellow MAC opponent Akron, the Bobcats can’t seem to find a silver lining.
The Bulls scored early in the game, with both goals in the first, while coming up with nothing in the second.
Katherine Camper struck first for Buffalo only 12 minutes into the game.
15 minutes later Andrea Judasz scored an unassisted goal of her own off a rebound to round things out for the Bulls.
Ohio didn’t put on the pressure until the second half. Improving from three shots in the first to 14 in the second, but the Bobcats couldn’t find the net.
Ohio took seven shots on goal, six of which came from the second half.
The Bobcats were under a lot of pressure in the first half with the Bulls taking seven shots on goal.
Sydney Malham didn’t let that stop her, coming up with five saves on seven attempts.
The continuous slow starts are becoming a problem for the Bobcats.
“We just have to be better in the first half,” Ohio Head Coach Aaron Rodgers said “Historically we’ve been a slow starting team.”
Ohio had a strong start to the second half creating many chances but couldn’t put any away.
“We have to be willing to take chances,”Rodgers said. “It’s definitely something that we are training for. We need to put ourselves in more situations that we can have those opportunities to finish in pressure situations.”
The Bobcats out-shot Buffalo 14-5 in the second half and were still unable to score.
Abby Townsend was the main point of focus for the Bobcats today, taking four shots,two of which were on goal.
Sarina Dirrig also attempted two shots, both of which were on target but saved.
The Bobcats take on Central Michigan (7-2-2) at Chessa field on Friday, October 18th.
