Athens Marathon Canceled For 2020

ATHENS, Ohio (WOUB) — The Athens Marathon has been called off this year after Ohio Governor Mike DeWine’s order that any event with more than 100 participants be canceled.
In a message on the Athens Marathon website, Event Director Lisa Simons said the committee “cannot put our participants or our volunteers at risk” of contracting COVID-19. The race was originally scheduled for April 19, and will not be rescheduled.
There will be no cash refunds; registrations will be honored for next year’s marathon on April 18, 2021.
