Sen. Bernie Sanders has endorsed former Vice President Joe Biden for president. Sanders made the announcement as he remotely joined Biden on a livestream video Monday.

“Today I’m asking all Americans … to come together in this campaign to support your candidacy, which I endorse,” Sanders said to Biden.

“We’ve got to make Trump a one-term president and we need you in the White House. So I will do all that I can to see that that happens.”

Sanders, who suspended his campaign last week, had long said he’d support whoever won the Democratic nomination, but he did not formally endorse Biden when he dropped out.

The two spoke from their respective homes, and the focus of the conversation was set to be the nation’s coronavirus response.
