Athens County Gets New Extension Educator
< < Back to athens-county-gets-new-extension-educatorA new face and new hours for the Athens County Extension Office.
The new person coming on board in January is Hal Kneen.
Kneen will take the position currently held by Rory Lewandowski — Extension Educator.
But Kneen will only be working here half time, retaining his half time position in Meigs County.
Lewandowski cut his own job to 50% because of reduced funding.
That and other cuts, he says, will cause a reduction in services. "There will be less overall programming with a 50% position."
Also starting with the new year — the Athens Extension Office will be open four days a week, not five.
It will have four employees, just one of them full time.
Lewandowski is leaving, going to the Extension Service in Wayne County.
