Fort Frye Senior returns from foot injury to continue Cadets’ playoff push
< < Back toBEVERLY, Ohio (WOUB) — The Fort Frye Cadets returned one of their senior leaders in the backfield last week in their 36-6 victory over the Nelsonville York Buckeyes for the second round of the playoffs.
Collin Welsh suffered a broken foot against Zanesville in week four of the regular season and questions rose about whether Welsh would get to play again.
Welsh was cleared last Saturday and saw the field for the first time since the regular season. He finished with 21 yards on three carries.
The Cadets continue their hunt for a state championship tonight as they travel to Zanesville to take on the Barnesville Shamrocks. These teams met in the playoffs last season, when the Cadets came away with a 34-point shutout victory.
