Lady Lancers Survive the Thriller at Miller
< < Back to lady-lancers-survive-thriller-millerHeart, desire, and persistence are three things the Federal Hocking Lady Lancers did not lack Monday night. The Lancers traveled to the Miller Lady Falcons home court to win the game by just a point. One free throw was all the Lady Lancers needed to slide by the Falcons. The final score was 35-36. Miller was held to single digits in till half time, which changed as soon as the second half started.
Haley Crawford led the Lady Falcons with 18 points, 13 of those points were scored during the beginning of the third quarter and were mostly three pointers. She was a force to be reckoned with. Ali Bray of the Falcons was the second leading scorer on her team with 8 points. The combined 26 points between the two was just not enough to get by the Lady Lancers.
With 17 rebounds Cheyenne Singer of the Lady Lancers dominated the paint. She had only 5 points but was a key component to win the game. Megan Thompson of the Lady Lancers was the leading scorer with 8 points and had 7 rebounds, but it was Carley Tabler that scored the final point at the foul line to win the game.
Both teams gave 110 percent throughout all four quarters. The referees were letting the girls play a physical game. The Federal Hocking Lady Lancers now are 4-8 overall. The Miller Lady Falcons are now 3-8 overall. It will be interesting to see what both of these teams continue to do with their season.
