Before the action began Saturday, the Bobcats inducted their four newest members to the Hockey Hall of Fame.
After the pre-game festivities, it was time for the puck to drop and OU wasted no time getting going. They got off to a quick start, and were getting shot after shot but Alabama goalie Elijah Gibbons made clutch saves to keep the Bobcats off the board as the first period ended scoreless.
It’s a very different story from Friday’s game when Ohio was up 4-0 through 20 minutes.
Early in the second period, Alabama took a roughing penalty giving the Bobcats an opportunity. OU cashed in on this chance as Andrew Sacca tapped in the rebound giving Ohio the first goal of the game.
The rest of the second period was much of the same, with neither team being able to beat the opposing goalie.
OU came out hot starting the third period, generating multiple high-danger chances and taking all the momentum. Midway through another power play, Aiden Grieco deflected a pass into the back of the net scoring his fourth goal of the weekend.
Shortly after that goal, it would be freshman forward Christain Albertson double dipping scoring two goals in just two minutes and 45 seconds.
With the game out of reach, things began to get heated. A big hit, and physical plays led to Ohio’s Laker Aldridge and Bama’s Rolando Lopez both being ejected.
Collin Felton would add one more insurance goal, and the Bobcats closed the night out with freshman goalie Garrett Alderman recording an 18 save shutout.
Ohio improved to 4-0 with the five to nothing victory.
The Bobcats will be in action again with a two-game series at Illinois October 14, and 15
