Shadow in the Moon’s ‘Solar Shadows’ showcases duo’s most accomplished release to date
< < Back to ?p=287623ATHENS, Ohio (WOUB) – Late last month psychedelic folk rock duo Shadow in the Moon released “Solar Shadows,” marking the group’s most accomplished effort to date. “Solar Shadows” reaffirms not only the spooky, sonic grace of vocalist Jessica Bouffioux and guitarist Kurt McGinnis, the nine track recording also serves as a pitch perfect soundtrack to the cooling, darkening of the seasons.
The album begins with the quiet eclecticism of “Winding Roads” and comes to a roaring conclusion with the dark moodiness of “Daydreamer’s Lament,” all the while conjuring up troubled nights at haunted speakeasys and claustrophobic yellowing dollhouse walls. If you’re a fan of the folksy art pop of early David Bowie or pioneering freak folk heroes the Incredible String Band – look no further for your new favorite regional act!
Shadow in the Moon plays Pat’s Endangered Species in Delaware, OH tonight.
