Three Ohio volleyball players – Katie Post, Nicole Staverman, and Lexie Hartnett – were named to the 2011 Academic All-MAC team, and four more Bobcats – Leah Petrovich, Faith Robins, Kelly Colyar, and Mollie Geske – were named Academic Honorable Mention.

This is the second year in a row that Post is named to the All-Academic team. Staverman and Hartnett were honored for this first time. Staverman has the highest GPA on the team, with a 3.98 GPA in retail fashion and merchandising. Post is proud of the team’s accomplishment.

“I feel very honored to have been chosen for the all academic team,” Post said. “We try our best to represent our program and our players being selected for it helps to show that.”

For the past five seasons, Ohio has had at least three players recognized on MAC All-Academic Team, and in 2008, Ohio had a record five Bobcats named to the team. 18 athletes from all around the MAC make up the team for this year. To qualify for the team, the student-athlete must excel both in the classroom and on the court, and maintain a 3.20 cumulative GPA. Another requirement is participation in at least 50 percent of the contests during the season.
