Mason Co. Board Of Education Member Resigns
< < Back to mason-co-board-education-member-resignsA member of the Mason County, West Virginia Board of Education facing bribery charges has resigned one day after she was arrested on a drunken-driving charge.
Teresa L. Warner, 52, of Point Pleasant resigned Tuesday.
A criminal complaint says Warner was stopped on Monday with a blood-alcohol level of 0.18 percent, more than twice the legal limit for drivers.
She was released on bond from the Western Regional Jail.
Warner says she resigned because her continued service would be a "distraction" to the board.
Warner was indicted this month on bribery charges.
She allegedly sold passing grades on GED tests in exchange for money from 2002 to 2010.
During that period, Warner was employed at Lakin Correctional Facility, where she taught adult basic education classes.
