Thornville, Ohio (WOUB) – The Sheridan Red Rage (3-2) took down the River View Black Bears (0-4) in the Generals’ homecoming game for this MVL-Big conference match-up.

On Sheridan’s first play of their opening drive, running back Luke Link found the endzone for his first touchdown of the game; only eight seconds into the first quarter. After a successful extra point, the Generals were sitting at 7-0 early on. The Black Bears were unable to find success on their opening drive, leaving the ball in the Generals’ hands once again.

Link was able to dominate on offense once again, finding the endzone for Sheridan to set the score at 14-0. After yet another turnover, the Generals were only seeing red. However, this time #2 quarterback Logan Hupp scored a rushing touchdown to put Sheridan up 21-0 halfway through the first quarter. The first three touchdowns of the game were scored within 59 seconds of Sheridan’s possession, but they would not stop there.

To top off their success, kicker Dominic McKinney put up three points for his team to make the score 24-0.

River View would take the ball back over, but defensive back Wyatt Link intercepted quarterback Gavin Huff’s pass and took it to the house for another Red Rage touchdown.

Sheridan would set the score at 32-0 at the end of the first quarter.

Sheridan would continue to lead the black bears throughout the second quarter, with key touchdowns from Tyler Turns, Tyce Whiteman, and Logan Russell.

The Generals would head into the locker room with a 52-0 lead over River View.

Coming out of the locker room, the Generals eased off the gas, but the black bears were still unable to sink their claws into this game. After another field goal from McKinney in the third quarter followed by another touchdown by Link, Sheridan won this game with a final score of 62-0.

Next week, the River View black bears will play away against the Tri-Valley Scotties, while the Sheridan Generals will play the Philo Electrics at home.
